Summary:

The Infrastructure and Cabling Specialist installs, evaluates and maintains communications infrastructure for business clients, including fiber optic transmissions, copper-based cabling, and wireless technologies. The ideal candidate must enjoy working with tools and using his/her hands. This is an exciting career for individuals who embrace building-related challenges, likes a lot of variety and does not want to do the same tasks daily. Key responsibilities:

  • Installs communication systems for clients in accordance with the current industry standards.
  • Collaborates with the Client’s Technology Manager and/or other points of contact for onsite coordination.
  • Maintains and develops detailed documents and diagrams of work completed.
  • Provides onsite project leadership, coordination and implementations as required.
  • Installs voice and data communication cables in addition to other network-based hardware.

Requirements:

  • High school degree or GED.
  • Experience working on construction sites, prior experience leading construction projects considered a plus.
  • Knowledge of building structures and familiarity with operating hand and power tools.
  • Great work ethic and self-starter, with the capacity to be both a team player as well as working independently.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills, with an ability to interact with a wide range of users having different levels of technical expertise.
  • Demonstrates a capacity for organization, prioritization and management in a dynamic and ever-changing environment.
  • A love to learn and do excellent work, someone who takes pride in the end product.
